Life can be stressful.

Many women find they need extra support and care during their pregnancies and post-partum periods. The Hannah House Maternity Home offers love and compassion during one of the most challenging times in a woman’s life. Hannah House is a comprehensive residential program for pregnant women and teenagers. We provide a safe home environment where you and your baby can grow and learn. The residents of Hannah House receive case management services to address their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

At Hannah House, we ensure that our residents have access to quality prenatal and pediatric care. In addition to participating in the programs offered at the Hannah Center, they receive life skills training and assistance in achieving longer-term educational and career goals. Why Hannah House?

Maternity Home:

The Hannah House Maternity Home is a temporary living arrangement for you and your child until the child is 6 months old.  The house has 4 bedrooms for residents.  Each room holds two mothers and two babies once the baby is born.  The rooms are quite large.  The Maternity Home is staffed 24/7, with an overnight Residential Assistant present on the grounds for emergencies.


Unplanned Pregnancy Decision Support

If you are considering parenting, we offer a pregnancy support program, referrals, resources and holistic support. If you are considering adoption, we can provide information on the many adoption arrangements and referrals to particular organizations.

We want you to feel confident and comfortable with your decision.


Case Management:

Your stay at Hannah House is a chance for you to achieve something more. Our case management is geared toward helping you be able to care for yourself and your child when your time at Hannah House closes. We will help you get your G.E.D. or High School diploma, we will help you start college, we will get you connected in your community, or we will help you find gainful employment. The sky is the limit, and we are here to help you fly!
In addition to the home itself, residents are able to take advantage of all the great programs available through our client services.

Material Support

Hannah Center provides material support in the form of diapers, clothes, formula, and more for newborns to age 6. Our Material support program rewards mothers and fathers who make positive choices to improve their lives with a system called baby bucks. These baby bucks can then be used to shop for needed items.

Parenting Classes

All of our classes are free, and can earn you baby bucks for attending. There is valuable information that you can learn by attending these classes, so please take them seriously when attending. Safe Sleep:
Learn about the dangers of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and ways to prevent it. You must pre-register for this class by contacting Maria, at 812-334-0104 or by email at
. This class will include a pack-and-play for applicable families. Please call for more information. Classes are the first and third Monday of the month from 2:30-3:30 (Our Monday classes alternate weekly between Safe Sleep and Baby Basics).

Baby Basics:

This class is for expecting parents or parents of newborns. Topics include newborn care, breastfeeding, healthy pregnancy, preparing for baby, and mommy self-care. Classes are the second and 4th Monday of the month from 2:30-3:30.
Childbirth Class:
For soon-to-be parents. Topics include Comfort Measures, Labor, Relaxation Techniques, Massages, Birth Plan Composition, Labor & Delivery Preparation, Hospital Expectation, Father/Support Person Duties, Maternity Unit Tour (Bloomington Hospital), Cesarean Birth, Post-Partum Care. Classes are limited and you must contact Kim regarding scheduling at

Mom’s Group:

Take some time to gain support and some helpful ideas. Typically we have a craft or some sort of activity to build community with other moms. Childcare is provided, and baby bucks are given out!


Growing Together:

We offer classes for families with children (typically from 1 year- preschool age) regarding topics such as discipline, bedtime, eating, etc. Classes are Wednesdays from 3-4.
